That’s what my student said when I asked him how much time he spent practicing per day.
How many few minutes exactly? I asked.
If I had been a less patient teacher I would have huffed and I would have puffed before I exploded and give a lecture on the need for practicing a lot more. But I’m cool since we are adults and we would know that we reap what we sow.
I told him that if he wanted more than just exercise he has to put in at least 120 minutes of practice per day, exactly what I mentioned on page 81 of TaijiKinesis 1 under 11.8 Time Investment.
So I solved the simple mystery of why the first few moves of his form play is still not there yet. With all the details already given I had expected him to improve a lot.
But alas, one needs two hands to clap. I can wave my hand but if he doesn’t put in equal or more effort on his side then as I told him he would have to continue falling on the floor or being sent flying each time we do push hands.
