Part of the explanation to my friend back in 2007. Check out my Youtube channel as there are 6 more of the clips there on this friend who incidentally was learning Chen style Taiji back then. If you want to know how the Wing Chun in The Ip Man Questions would look like you can take this as an example.
This is a clip taken in 2007 and shows me explaining Wing Chun to a friend.
A clip from Nov 2007. When I first read the story of Sifu C’s student winning a match and throwing 200+ kicks I wondered how this can be done because it would in a 3-round match it would average throwing about 60+ kicks within say a span of 3-minutes which is about 20 kicks per minute.
Since I don’t remember reading how many rounds and the time per round of that match I am just making a guess here. Of course if its 5 rounds and 5 minutes per round that would be 40 kicks per round and 8 kicks per minute.
After knowing the principles of kicking as I explained in The Ip Man Questions for some years I thought I would have a go at chain kicking to see how it turns out. One thing – wear shoes when kicking a ladder as there are parts which can hurt the kicking foot and don’t kick too hard as the ladder may topple, fall and cause damage / injury.
Found another old clip impromptu clip from Oct 2007 showing the Wing Chun footwork that I learned and eventually wrote about in The Ip Man Questions on page 95-98. I know I have been slow in coming out with the instructional manual but this will give an idea of how its done.
Posted a clip for readers of my eBooks :-
